Your body is 70% water, so keep it hydrated! Start drinking plenty of water for the week leading up to the tattoo, and continue the following month!
It will help your skin heal!
Be sure to eat within 2 hours before your appointment!
It’s all about blood sugar, so eat a large meal with carbs, oil, or both! You will need lasting energy that snacks won’t give you.
I don’t care how tough you are, eat okay!?
The only thing that is absolutely needed is a current state issued photo ID, passport, or drivers license.
I insist you eat within 2 hours prior to our appointment.
Feel free to bring snacks, lidded water and/or juice, headphones, a tablet, a phone, or a book or magazine.
I have a tv for shows or movies, or we can listen to music. I want to make this as comfortable as possible.
Speaking of comfort, wear comfortable clothes, which make the tattoo placement easily accessible.
Tattoos do hurt, it varies from person to person, as well as the placement
I do not recommend a numbing cream, it affects the skin, and alters the way your skin heals. It makes the skin rubbery and odd to tattoo, to use a numbing cream. I occasionally use a lidocaine spray, which only works once the skin has opened. For small tattoos, it’s entirely unnecessary, it will be done before you even realize!
I ask for 24 hours notice to reschedule, to honor the deposit. If you are sick, we will need to reschedule, for the safety of my clients, and I. If you have any irritations, rashes, bumps, outbreaks or anything we are going to have to reschedule.
I will request that you do not take ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or other blood thinners 24 hours prior to the tattoo. It WILL affect the healing of your tattoo. NO ANTIBIOTICS!
Do not drink alcohol beforehand!
No hard drugs!
You can bring a person or a few, but I will politely ask they remain respectful of the space, and of our time in our appointment. I will not be asking them their opinions on your tattoo, or for input, that is between us.
If you bring a child, I will ask they remain quiet and seated. If they are young, I will ask for you to bring a caretaker. If they are disorderly, or affecting the workspace, I will ask the caretaker to leave with the child.
It varies depending on the size, and placement of your tattoo. Be sure to set up a consultation, virtual or in person, so I can get a better understanding of your request! I do charge more for cover ups.
